Survey Launches: Hawai‘i Residents Invited to Weigh In on Red Hill Fuel Spill Awareness
Join the Conversation on Groundwater Protection and Community Resilience
HONOLULU – Marking a significant step towards transparency and community involvement, the Hawai‘i State Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) is inviting residents to participate in a critical 10-minute survey aimed at assessing awareness of the 2021 spill at the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility. This initiative seeks to gauge public understanding of ongoing concerns and the implications for the islands’ vital groundwater resources.
All Hawai‘i inhabitants are encouraged to contribute their perspectives, particularly those who utilized the Navy water system during the period surrounding the spill. You can access the survey online at RedHillSurvey.com.
Starting January 20, 2026, the DLNR will also distribute the survey to a diverse cross-section of O‘ahu residents, ensuring broad representation of community voices. Responses will remain anonymous, with findings compiled into a summary report devoid of any identifiable information.
